Financing Project Grow

The cost of Project Grow comes in at £1.4 million (including VAT), as costed by our Quantity Surveyor.  For many organisations this would be a huge sum of money, but even more so for a church like St Richard's.  However, despite the fact that Hanworth is far from a rich area, its members have already pledged and raised over £140,000 towards this total, which is an absolutely amazing achievement.

This money has come in the form of five year pledges and through a variety of fundraising events, such as coffee mornings, quiz nights, jumble and table-top sales, sponsored sporting events, and an auction of promises.

We've also secured over £240,000 in grants and loans, making a total of £380,000 raised to date.

If you'd like to add to this total by making make a one-off donation you can do that through BT MyDonate.

Project Costs

The money already raised has allowed the church to move from the initial design phase to the next step of the project, which includes appointing a Quantity Surveyor accurately to price the scheme.  We'll update this page with detailed costings as soon as they're available.

Based on similar schemes in other churches we're confident that this £1.4m total can be achieved.  A possible breakdown of the costs is as follows:

Craig, our vicar, says, "To raise money for Project Grow On 15th October I'm going to be running in the Centurion Autumn 100 ultramarathon - a 100 mile continuous trail race based in the twinned villages of Goring & Streatley on the River Thames. The course reflects the shape of a cross and takes runners on a series of 4 different 25 mile out and back spurs using sections of both the Ridgeway and Thames Path National Trails. I've no idea how long I'll last (the cut-off is 28 hours) or how far I'll get, but I’d love your sponsorship! You can donate online at: mydonate.bt.com/fundraisers/craigholmes2 Thanks for considering it!"
